What is the difference between a hot tea & iced tea maker?!

Question:

What is the difference between a hot tea & iced tea maker?

My mom wants an iced tea maker for her birthday, but we live in Canada. I can only find Hot Tea Makers here, but in the U.S., they sell Iced Tea Makers.

Aren't they essentially the same? Is there a difference?

Just wanted to add that her birthday is June 9th, so I'd have to drive to the U.S. (which is fine because I'm only an hour from the border). Shipping is not an option.

Don't hot tea makers only make about 4-6 cups of tea, made to be served hot? Iced tea makers will make a larger quantity of tea depending on which size pitcher you buy. It is also made to be served cold.

If you have the money, then buy it from ebay or walmart. Have it shipped to the nearest store for pick up.
