Question:

Do you say soda, coke, pop, or something else?

i say soda...what about you?

Answers:
Coke is the generic term for the fizzy stuff here!

* You are 100% Texan if you have ever heard this conversation: "You wanna coke?" "Yeah." "What kind?" "Dr Pepper!"

soda..but my family from Michigan call it pop

It's pop.

soda or coke.no one says "pop" any more...eww

I say soda, but my cousins say pop. Weird, because when I visit, I find myself saying pop.

soda but i know some people from illinoise say pop

As a kid i said pop. When i was in texas at the hospital I heard the phrase soda water. Then when i was in foster care i started using soda and thats what I use today. And i'm from illinois by the way, live here all my life.

Soda if your from the N.E, pop if you live in the Mid West,
coke in the South especially (Georgia) even if it's a sprite,it's a coke. That has been my observation.
For me it's a coke.

Everyone I know here in Texas says Coke. This covers all soda.

Soda. I heard people in up North says pop. same as we say swamp meet, the Northerns say flea market. I dont know why.

Soda of course!!!

Pop

soda

I say coke. But its a really bad habit because I like Pepsi. When I order at a reastraunt i always say diet coke, instead of diet pepsi :(

Me, too, but an awful lot of people around here do call it pop.

Well, I'll usually say the soda I'm talking about.

I never say pop. Ever.

Soda!

It all depends what that particular restaurants sells. They might have what I want, but it going to cost more. They are only there to make us happy.

I am from Michigan and everybody around here calls it pop, but I realized that most of the rest of the states calls it soda or coke so I try to call it soda, and if I am somewhere where it is called coke, I try to follow suit.

it doesn't matter they r the same things anyways

In Illinois, near St louis MO we call it soda.....but when we go to Indiana its Pop

I say coke. It just depends though sometimes I say pop. I hardly ever say soda.

Soda, im from California.
I played with a guy on xbox live he called it pop, he is from canada

In Ohio we said "pop", but that was years ago and now I don't drink the stuff anymore... Now, I just say Tea or water.

I say Coke usually. Sometimes I end up saying soda or Cola.

My parents call it Pepsi regardless of it's brand. That is so weird. Even if it's coke or Walmart brand cola, they call it Pepsi.

Coke, mostly. Even if it is Pepsi. On the other hand, this Texan will say Dr. Pepper if offering or ordering a Dr. Pepper.

You'll say, "Wanna Coke?" to which they'll answer, "What do ya have?" You'll answer, "Coke, Orange, Pepsi, Root Beer." You might hear back, "Got a Dr. Pepper?" I'd say, "Here ya go."

The only place I've heard "Pop" used is Chicago. I have a lot of friends from there, and most of their parents (who are now in their 70s) still say it. "Paaaaaap?"

Us Mid-weasterns use the term pop. When people say soda or coke, I'm like, "What's that?" :)

soda

everything is a "coke" in Texas!!!

Pop! Just like all Midwesterners.
