Why are fish sticks so expensive?
i bougth a box for 5 dollars? whats the dea?

A cheaper alternative is to use fish cakes, which are fish tasting potato patties. Fish is expensive where ever in the world you are.
They are made from FISH!
Buy the generic brands. They are a lot cheaper than name brands.

$5??? Are you sure that was fish:) The cost has gone up like everything else but the type of fish makes a huge impact on the price. Processed fish product is real fish but since it is not filets cut into sticks it is much cheaper. Some of the upscale portions of fish are filets that are frozen before they are cut so the hopefully won't break but there is a lot of wasted fish that way because they do break. The less costly brands taste just about as good but the breading really makes a difference too.
I used to buy Booth or Mrs. Pauls, but they are nothing but a name and I complained to 1 company for false advertisement. They showed on the package, big full fish fillet in very little breading or batter. But in reality, A 1/4" thick fillet in a 1" in thickness batter. They sent a letter to me saying they were sorry and gave me a coupon for another. So, now I buy GV....Walmarts brand, at 1/3 the price and it really does have a 3/4" thick fillet and tastes soooooo good. Buy generic, its better and cheaper. Forget buying the name. Cause thats all it is, is a name.
You try getting a fish to grow like that!
Food processing is getting more expensive. Higher costs to put out the product and pay the wages. We are our own worse enemy.
it is hard to catch fish (LOL)
