Can you actually freeze squash?!
Can you actually freeze squash?
and as long as i'm asking, what fresh veggies can you freeze?
Answers:
most all veggies freeze well as long as you blanch them in boiling water for a couple of minutes....as for the squash it can be frozen but it will depend on how you want to use it......i freeze mine whole unpeeled and dip in boiling water for a couple of minutes...it just seems to hold up better....but you do know that squash has a long storage time in a cool dark place...
yes you can, I dont know any vegetables that cant be frozen. some of them like corn or asparagus need to be par boiled first.
Squash is great to freeze. The best way to do this is to bake them, mash them, put them in freezer bags, and stick them in the freezer. Takes up very little space and can be used for pies, soups, and anything else you might want later on.
