Is Ostrich meat poultry?!

Question:

Is Ostrich meat poultry?

Answers:
This is such an interesting question...they refer to the meat as steaks, but it is a bird. The babies are called chicks but adolescents are called calves. The meat is red however it has comparable protein content to that of chicken. It supposedly tastes like beef. I'm confused and I hope someone out there can answer this.

poultry its a bird

an ostrich is a bird, so yes it is poultry. It has a meatier more beef like texture and taste though.

yes some eat it.

It is, actually. But it is different to most poultry meat because it is lean red meat rather than fatty white meat like in ducks, chickens and turkeys. It also tastes more like game meat than poultry.
