I need to know how to pick out fresh fruit, sites that could help?!

Question:

I need to know how to pick out fresh fruit, sites that could help?

I would like to know how to pick out exotic fresh fuit (jicama, mango, papaya etc) but how do you know it's fresh- should it be hard, soft, green, brightly colored? etc etc. I would love it if anyone knew any sites that I could go to as a reference. Thank you!!

Answers:
A general rule of thumb when buying any fruit is to smell them. Fresh fruit should smell good, if you can't smell it, or its green, then it is not ripe. Mangoes should be a little soft, not too firm and have no green on them, ripe papayas are a nice orange sometimes with bits of black on the skin, this is nothing to worry about. I don't know about jicama but give em a sniff!

Here are some links to websites that you will find help on:

Good luck, hope I helped!!
