Question:

Is it O.k. to refrigerate onions or does it?

ruin them?

Answers:
I have a small Rubbermaid container it store my unused onion In the refrigerator for a week or more.

I always refigerate mine!

Unless they are in a well sealed container they will make everything else in your fridge smell.but they will be alright.

You can for a day or two, make sure you cover them well otherwise everything in the fridge would stink of onions.

Refrigerate onions 30 minutes before preparation to prevent tearing.

To remove the smell of onions, rub hands and equipment with lemon juice or salt.

Store your onions in a cool, dry ventilated place-not in the refrigerator. Lack of air movement reduces storage life.

Chopped or sliced onions can be stored in a sealed container in your refrigerator for up
to 7 days.

Of Course

I refrigerate mine all the time once I cut into them and they are ok.

Don't forget to put some baking soda in your fridge to soak up the smell.

I do it all the time. It stops me crying.

I keep them in the frige too...but they don't last long in there cuz I always use it in a dish plus for me I don't tear up as much when I'm chopping them up....
