I left a dozen eggs in trunk of car for a few days. Are they still good?
I bought an 18-pack of eggs on Saturday from store where they were refrigerated, they sat in my trunk until last night. Now they are back in the fridge again. Should I just throw them away?
Answers:
Yes, throw them immediately. Why risk your health over a $3.00 18-pack of eggs?
I would....or cook them for someone you don't like so much, and see what happens, if he/she hasn't gone to the washroom after a few hours, I guess it'll be alright to eat.
Eat one and see.
I would threw them away, unless it is winter time where you are. If, it is spring or Summer, toss them out quickly. They may start to smell. Have a good day.
If they were still cool to the touch when you took them out of the trunk I would think they are ok. But, I suggest making hard boiled eggs with all of them, or using them in other foods where they will be fully cooked. If they were warm though, I would throw them out.
YES! I don't know how long eggs stay fresh, but I'd be scared to crack one.
Maybe crack one outside, so you can DROP and RUN if you find something unbearably gross.
I'd still through them out though, even if they don't look or smell bad, they still MIGHT be bad, and why risk getting sick for 18 eggs...
it depend if it is hot or cold out sided if cold then yes they are if hot no
Probably still good for stink bombs.
hell no better throw them away so you dont get sick
eggs are way too cheap to risk it. Think about it, is a months worth of salmonella poisioning worth a buck and half? Toss them and get some new ones.
one word "Salmonella" get rid of them. don't try to keep not even for baking!!!!!!!
ummm, no.
I would'nt risk it:-)
Check to see if any of them hatched. If not, toss them.
throw them away.
Depends on where you live...was it really hot the last couple of days?? If so, I'd pitch them.
Do they float in water
They are not that expensive
Hard boil the lot
Feed them to the dog
Throw them at someone you dislike
Surely you jest.
Why do you think they are refrigerated with an expiration date?
Have you ever read the inside (or outside, depending on the brand) of the container? It gives safe handling procedures for eggs.
Eggs, milk, meat, cheese--all of these are EXTREMELY sensitive to being warmed/heated at all. The life expectancy of these products declines exponentially with each small increase in temperature.
If I had left any of these products out on the kitchen counter accidentally for a few hours, I would IMMEDIATELY replace them in the refrigerator and then use them within the next day or two; and when I did use them, I would make darn sure that I cooked them, or the recipe in which they are mixed, to the fullest degree.
Do you think that YOU would be safe after being left to slowly cook in a car trunk for several days?
Absolutely, positively pitch them..........not worth the price of a trip to the Doctor.
THROW EM OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
