Not big on tipping the pizza guy? Read This!?!

Question:

Not big on tipping the pizza guy? Read This!?

(Pizza Hut, Dominos, Donatos, Papa Johns, ect)
FACTS:
1. Drivers make minimum wage
2. They work for tips!!!
3. They pay for their own gas
4. They get .50 cents ($1 at the most) to take you your pizza.
5. They work in rain, lightening, thunder, snow, sleet, hail (they are always there for you)
6. Not all of them are punk kids like you think
7. Pizza drivers have to be at least 18 and an almost PERFECT driving record to work for these companies.
8. Got a DUI and you work for these companies? Your gone! For a minimum of 5 (sometimes 3) years.
-------
Soo just think about it people. You have people at the store answering your calls .. making your food .. drivers to deliver it .. and at the most they are getting a $1.00 (if you deside to stiff).
THINK!! What would you be leaving a waitress? If it's more then what you are giving the pizza guy, thats wrong! VERY WRONG! Especially since they are saving you gas money. You don't even have to leave your front step!

Deside to stiff? Don't expect your food at your house as quick as it got there before. And your address will get around .. they'll remember it .. they wont do anything to your house or food but it will be taken last and other drivers at other companies will get word and you wont get any lovin from anyone!

Just remember: if you have money to order pizza then you must have an extra $2.00 layin around ... come on! Gas is $3.50 ... honestly i think whatever gas is should be the minimum tip. ?

Cheers to you, and well stated! Although there are a few companies that pay mileage, there is nearly never any compensation for the wear and tear caused to the car. One of the most embarrassing moments in my life was when I went to the door with a "friend" during a party and took the pizzas while he paid; when I turned away I heard the guy ask for all his change and slam the door in the delivery person's face.

Delivery people, at the very least, should be tipped 20% of the price of the order.

I totally agree with you. Great post. I personally enjoy the comforts of not having to leave home and show my appreciation and I hope most others do as well.

I agree if they do a good job just like with a waiter/waitress if they do a good job then I will leave a good tip but if they do a crummy job why should you tip for bad service it should not be automatic

I do tip but want you to know you are working at the wrong place because most Pizza joints pay milage & gas. The don't pay for your car to be fixed.

I agree, I always tip well, unless it's extremely late of course.

In the UK they make more than enough.

Its just you yanks that are too stingy to pay a decent salary to someone!

Oh My God
I never looked at it this way. Thank godness i give my deliverer 2.00 but now im gonna give him 5.00.
He never lets us down when we want that meatlover pizza.
Once it was thundering and he still came.
and while were eating he is driving back to work.
How sad!?

i always tip good, i respect the people that have those kinds of jobs they are not easy and they usually do not come with the respect they deserve. if on some occasions i am too lazy to go and get my food i expect to have to tip dearly for the ones who bring it!

Sounds like the restaurant should take some responsibility in paying the drivers as well. Or at least they should add the tip into the final price of the pizza so the buyer knows exactly what to pay.

What are you, the pizza guy?
