How long does cereal last?!

Question:

How long does cereal last?

How long does cereal last after it's opened (w/o bugs getting into it)? Does the expiration date mean anything?

Answers:
The expiration date just means that if it is stale that the company won't take the blame for it. As long as it doesn't have bugs in it or taste bad it's fine.

Cereal is usually good for awhile. Just make sure you close the bag tightly otherwise it may get soggy and then there's no point to it. The expiration date is usually meant for the shelf life.

After you open it you should use it within a month, store in a closed container or in the original box but seal off the liner bag with one of those clamps to keep it closed.

Check the expiration date
