will i gain weight from this? .. i'm trying to lose weight.
Answers:
I don't think you'll gain weight from that but you're going to have problems with it.
First problem is the granola bar. It's loaded with fat & sugar and possibly one of the worst things you can eat. Just because it has granola in the name doesn't mean it's healthy.
Secondly, after eating this you'll be hungry again in a few hours which means you're either going to wind up getting something fast (and fattening) or you're going to mess up your metabolism when you finally have lunch.
My suggestion is as follows:
Have some fruit like a banana, apple, orange, pear or maybe a cup of mixed berries. This will give you some vitamins, minerals and a little shot of carbs to get you going.
Have a bowl of oatmeal, not the instant variety but real oatmeal. If you want, add the banana or berries to it. Have some skim (non-fat) milk and a little honey or maple syrup to give it some sweetness. Oats are digested slowly which means you'll feel fuller longer.
If you want the yogurt, have it.
And then with the coffee I really suggest some non-fat milk. Using non-dairy creamers is not a good thing unless you've got a dairy allergy.
no u wont!!!
Drop the granola bar-it's full of fat and sugar.
Have a small bowl of oatmeal instead.
Sure, it'll taste so nasty you'll throw up and lose weight.
Seriously go do some cardio, that's it.
yogurt and oats is good
but you cant lose weight just by undereating or eating different items
go excercise
excercise a lot
i run 2 miles a day once a week to stay in shape
not to mention everything else in between
just run, walk, swim, do whatever
get active
youll start burning calories and losing a lot of weight
2000 calories = 1 lb (keep that in mind)
You shouldn't be worried as much about your weight, as you should be about your health. I'd say that isn't a bad breakfast, but it needs a little protein, and some fruit or fruit juice, to round it out. Try this:
Fresh fruit topped with non-fat yogurt and granola
1/2 whole wheat bagel topped with peanut butter (this will be your protein)
Remember, you need energy to get you through the day, so don't skip or skimp breakfast. And actually, did you know that if you want to splurge and eat something a little fatty or sugary, the best time to do it is early in the day, because then you have the rest of the day to burn off the calories from it. I'm not saying eat candy bars for breakfast, but definitely don't skimp on it- eat something that will keep you going until lunch.
That is indeed a good breakfast. Don't for get to eat an apple or banana mid-morning, a light lunch, a healthy snack.... to the gym after the office and then a smart dinner. Drink water - 2 quarts a day!
Are you serious? There is hardly any food in that meal! You'll be starving in no time. Get yourself some oatmeal, made with skim milk, a fruit and a glass of water. You'll feel much happier than with that scanty nibbling.
And just so you know, depriving yourself when you are hungry makes it harder to lose weight and keep it off... and nature valley has almost a 1/2 tablespoon of sugar and 3 grams of fat per teeny tiny bar - not good for weight loss. Good news though coffee has antioxidants that supposedly preserve your health.
granola bars seem healthy but they are often high in calories!
If you use a lot of energy during the day, make sure to have a big breakfast, medium sized lunch, and a small dinner. Every morning I eat two pieces of wheat toast (plain), a banana, an orange, a glass of grape juice, chopped carrots, and one very small piece of really dark chocolate.
Stay away from soda and beer, and pretty much anything from vending machines or fast food places.
