Pickles without preservatives?!

Question:

Pickles without preservatives?

I have bought pickles which do not use preservatives except Vinegar. I just read somewhere about nematodes called Vinegar Eels in vinegar. Do these grow in non preservated pickles. Also the producers of the pickle say that it can be stored upto 1 year (pickle with vinegar and no added preservatives) , Can this be stored in the refrigerator like normal pickles or do these develop growth of micro organisms ?

Answers:
i have no clue but do they taste pretty good...i would think you should store them in the refrigerator, no?

I make my own pickles all the time and the only preservatives I use are vinegar and salt. They last for months and months.
