What is the difference between Essential oil and extract?!

Question:

What is the difference between Essential oil and extract?

Answers:
Extract is usually an essence combined with an alcohol solution.
Essential oil is usually some sort of plant distilled over water.

extracts are (vanilla, cherry, almond) flavoured with alcohol
and essential oils are non-edible expressed over water

An extract is the combination of the flavor and alcohol. An essential oil is the oil alone extracted from the fruit, usually the peel. For example, a lemon peel contains essential lemon oils, to make it into an extract it is combined with an alcohol solution. I did look up the essential oils, to be sure, in an online dictionary. Some essential oils are not to be injested, those are used for aromatherapy only.
