Healthy breakfast?!
Healthy breakfast?
I'm hungry but I want to eat a healthy and filling breakfast. Any suggestions?

One word to describe a healthy and filling breakfast- fiber. High fiber foods fill you up quicker (fiber swells up when combined with liquids) and keep you full longer which causes you to eat fewer calories, are good for your digestive system, and soluble fibers (such as oatmeal) are heart healthy. Some good suggestions for breakfast would be oatmeal, raisin bran cereal with nonfat milk, fresh fruit (or you could try a fresh fruit smoothie by blending up some fruit, low fat yogurt, a little ice, etc), or some toast (using whole grain bread and natural peanut butter). Have a glass of nonfat milk or fresh squeezed orange juice. For protein, try egg whites but if you cook it in a frying pan, don't use too much oil. Also, the oil/fat you use should not be from an animal or tropical oil source because they are saturated fats (the bad fats/oils). Go with the plant based oils such as canola.

Oatmeal with cashews and berries is both yummy and healthy. Dont get the instant garbage thats loaded with artificial ingredients-get the real deal. Steal cut or irish oats are the creamiest. Cream of rice, or quinoa hot cereal is great too. Good luck
