Why can't you find block American Cheese in the grocery store?!

Question:

Why can't you find block American Cheese in the grocery store?

Only in slices (Kraft singles). Just curious! Have a nice day :)

Answers:
Probably because it is a processed cheese, therefore it wont usually be sold by the block, just by the slice. I have seen a store that did have a block of American cheese, but its rare.

You can. But it's in the deli section of the store.

You need to go to a grocery store with a Deli, Even super Walmart has these now. It's out there, and if you live in a small town ask the local grocery store manager to order you a block, they can get any food item you want that is in other grocery stores. Good to see someone who likes good cheese, it always taste better from a block.

Velveeta
You did not ask !!!
It is not with the other cheese.
because it does not have to be refrigerated.
Like the cut cheeses,, until opened.

because the government has all the block cheese, have you ever heard of "government cheese"? i remember years ago they would have these places you could go if you were poor and they would hand out free blocks of cheese!! does anyone remember that?

you can find it in every supermarket just ask the deli manager for it

because i live in guatemala

You're not looking in the right place. It does not need to be refrigerated (unitl it's opened). Look for it by the Kraft Parmesean cheese or ask a clerk to point you in the right direction.
