Why is there always watery stuff in sour cream?

Answers:
its just the juices fromn the sour cream mix the sour cream up and it wont be there anymore

its old

HA thats funny i wonder that all of the time

GOOD QUESTION I DONT KNOW WHAT THAT IS. I WALWAYS DUMP IT OUT.

the only time you will see water in sour cream is when it is not fresh.to avoid it so soon, keep the lid tightly seald and read the experation date.

it seperated

It's the whey:

watery fraction that forms along with curd when milk coagulates. It contains the water-soluble constituents of milk and is essentially a 5 percent solution of lactose in water, with some minerals and lactalbumin.

see as you may know sour cream is a dairy product ( like milk, ice cream, ect.) well dairy is made up from certain stuff so when you sit it in the fridge for a day or so ( still good) liquids come to settle but you can just stur its up for the best!!!! ~ best of luck with your sour cream CASEY lol

it's caused by a separation of the cream and milk used to make it.you can pour it off if you want, but it doesn't do anything to ruin the sour cream.it is not old.sour cream is good for awhile after the pull date.if it starts getting mold on it,that's when it is old.

i dont know
