What's the least expensive kind of fish?!

Question:

What's the least expensive kind of fish?

I want to incorporate more fish in my diet but it's so expensive. I love salmon but there's gotta be something cheaper!

Answers:
Go to the fish counter, and see whats cheapest that day. Most fish is yummy when prepared correctly. Flounder is relatively cheap, and delicious. I also love stream caught trout. Get a fishing license, and catch your own. This is the cheapest way yet, and the freshest.

Tunafish

Tilapia

The fish that you don't buy.

Mullet, It's a dark meat fish but it tastes great, Or catfish.

Tilapia, Tuna, and Salmon can all be low priced, depending on where and when you buy it. I think Tilapia is probably the cheapest though.

Generally, white fish is less expensive, like Tilapia or Snapper. Whiting is the cheapest of them all.

gold fish

The ones you catch yourself. If that's not feasible for you, try canned sardines, herring or mackerel
Frozen haddock is usually fairly inexpensive also.

tuna or catfish

Today @ the store I saw Tilipia for $1.99 per WHOLE FISH - I don't think you can get much cheaper than that! I do not think you should resort to TUNA because there tends to be a lot of mercury in that specie. Although, I every once in awhile is OK, but TUNA in steak form is pretty expensive!
