What is the best way to unfreeze meat fast without a microwave?!

Question:

What is the best way to unfreeze meat fast without a microwave?

Forgotten to take it out of the freezer, so how do I get it defrosted fast so we can eat? no microwave :-)

Answers:
it really depends on the type of meat for ground meat you should just cook on low with a little water covered. For steak, chicken,or chops, the best way is to put it in cool water. about 10 min per lb.
don't use hot or warm it causes Bactria to grow and may compromise the quality.

i went to culinary school and have been cooking for 23 years in various kitchens

The fastest way you can defrost it and still be safe is to immerse it cool water. If you plan to eat all of it that you defrost and also plan to cook it up right away after defrosting, cut it up into small pieces and run hot water over them.

Put it in plastic and put it in cool water. That is how my momma would do it (with no microwave). Keep changing the water.

usally i run them over water to defrost faster.

hot water

Sit on it.

If it isn't a huge piece, I put it in a ziplock bag with all the air removed, and place it in a sink full of warm water.

You could fill up a bowl with warm water and let the meat sit in it. It may take a long while depending on the size of the meat. The safest way to defrost meat is to leave it in the refrigerator.

lay it in a pan, the metal will disperse the cold, and it will thaw quickly

hack it into pieces and put it in a plastic bag. not tightly and fill a bowl in the sink with hot water. place the plastic bag in there and change the water once in a while! gud luk :)

Warm water

no real quick way but putting it in the fridge is the safest.
