Is there a way to pick out sweet watermelon?!

Question:

Is there a way to pick out sweet watermelon?

How do you pick just the "right kind of ripe" watermelon in a grocery store. We suck at picking melon, it always comes out kind of tangy...is there a secret to picking sweet and ripe watermelon before eating it?

Answers:
When choosing a ripe watermellon, first you want to check for brusies discolorations and soft spots. All these are bad signs. After finding a water mellon that is firm and free from cuts, knock on it like you would knock on a door. The mellon that sounds the most hollow would be the ripes mellon. When you get it home, and you put the knife in the middle, the mellon should split, and this is the sign of a ripe and perfectly sweet mellon. Good luck!

(This also works step by step for choosing the perfect 5 year old child) hehehe just kidding.

U gotta tap it hard with cupped hands & hear to see which one makes the loudest "thump" sound.

You have to thump them.. if they sound full they're good and ripe and sweet, if not . thmp another

when you pick out a watermelon it is hard to know which is sweet and which ones aren't. When you pick one out look for one with a deep green rind with no blemishes or bruises. Also I should be heavy for its size if it feel a little light it means the melon is starting to dry out. good luck P.S. thumping the does you know good cause the rind is very thick

Check the spot on the melon that rested on the ground. The deeper the yellow the sweeter the melon.
