Aluminum Foil...which side is better to cook with? Shiny or dull?!

Question:

Aluminum Foil...which side is better to cook with? Shiny or dull?

Answers:
There is no difference. The reason why one side is matte is because that's the result of how it comes out of the rollers in the factory.

I was a purchasing agent for a company that bought Reynolds foil for airline foodservice.

I always cook with the shiny side facing outwards, but thats just me. I dont know if there really is a proper way to do it.

=]

outside is shiny, contains heat

Supposedly, the shiny side reflects heat, therefore longer cooking time. Dull side absorbs heat=shorter cooking time. I always forget to check if it's true.

Shinny on the outside is my way lol but who really knows I don't think Ive ever read the directions for the correct usage of aluminum foil ... Something I must do one day

it does not matter.

dull side.
