You all know what i mean, when we try new things and we decribe the taste of it to someone we say it tastes like chicken. But why chicken?? Why not beef or pork or something else???

Not everything tastes like chicken, but perhaps the chicken impersonated that which might of been killed and ate, therefore giving it the taste of chicken, lol.
Chicken is tasteless. It is the flavour that is put with it is what you taste. Curry chicken is nice.

My home made ice cream doesnt taste like chicken,luckily.I love chicken but only chicken tastes like chicken to me.Just remembered,i had some alligator bites and have to admit they did taste a bit like chicken only tastier.
It has become a pat answer for everything from rattlesnake, pigeon,rabbit to frog legs. it's a cue to get people to try new foods.

Does it?? Oh my gosh, if this is true, then you must go and see your doctor, cos not everything taste like chicken!!!! For dinner tonight, I have just had saag and dahl and yoghurt and salad and nothing on my plate taste like chicken.
Maybe because they feed them all alike? Chicken, cows and pigs, all get the same kind of mash?

Supermarket chicken is apalling stuff, free range organic tastes of chicken. Supermarket stuff is bland and the same goes with all their meats.
If you have a proper butcher near you, buy from them - you'll be amazed at the difference in flavours from chicken, pork, beef lamb etc.... - it depends on what the animals are fed on or if they are allowed to look after themselves.
Apparently in Australia pork tastes of fish because they're fed fishmeal!
