For how long after the "best before end date" can you eat food?!

Question:

For how long after the "best before end date" can you eat food?

Answers:
Tin stuff a few weeks.dry power or dried foods the same.fruits spuds etc a few days.Meat one two at most.X Cindy

depends on the product ... be a lil more specific ill get back to you

you can eat it whenever you like as long as you dont mind sitting on the can all day

A couple of days, but when there is a 'use by' date that is the last day you can eat it.

depends on the product and the quality you wish to eat it at. You can eat hundred year old cheese, doesn't mean it is healthy

I imagine that it depends on what the food is.

It`s better to maintain a particular time to have ur breakfast, lunch&dinner daily at a same time .There is no particular time to eat and also one thing have liquid foods trice every day it keeps our body active.

how many times are we gonna see this question
dates are there for a reason
is your health really worth risking for the few quid you'll waste??
years ago food didnt have expiry dates, but we were less aware of the risks, and the effects involved
dont chance it

Depends on how crazy you are......and depends on the product. you feeling luck today huh do you??

the best before date is when the manufacturer can no longer guarantee the quality of the food, though it might be perfectly fine to eat.
the use by date is when it's not advisable to eat it

Anywhere between a few days to about week depending on the food.

If a packet reads, "USE by" a certain date though (i.e. a meat product), then it's definitely a bad idea to eat beyond that time.
