Yeah i would if the discounts are right, but decent pubs and clubs don't usually charge you to get discounts, they are usually complimentary, double check the small print!
Scream Pubs (http://www.screampubs.com/) are a student targeted bar and they offer (well they used to at least) a "yellow card" for ￡1 which gives you money off each time you use it in any scream pub. I had one for 2 years, and many of my friends had them too. It only saved you about 35p off a pint of beer, but then you only need to buy 3 pints per year to make up the money! I think ￡3 is a reasonable price, even if you only got 35p off a pint, most people drink more than 9 pints per year. Ensure it is discount for the purchaser though, not just the purchasers drink. I think people would be less keen if they couldn't get rounds in with it!
I think it'd be great to have one website where you could check out pubs and the discounts before you went. I'd pay ￡3 a year (probably no more though) for the package. I wouldn't want to be informed of new pub openings and the like via email though, you'd need an opt out for that, if I wanted to know I'd like to go to the site myself.
Me thinks not, you would probably have to cross the country trying to find a bar that gives you that discount, sounds a bit like a scam they have in Spain and Greek islands, buy the ticket then get sod all from it, sorry my friend, but its a BIG NO from me.
