Steak red and brown?!

Question:

Steak red and brown?

theres peices of my steak that look like they have been already cooked but my meat is still raw, is itgood to eat??

Answers:
As long as the meat doesn't have a sour smell to it and it's surface isn't sticky. Also check the date on the packaging it should say when to use the meat by. If there is no date but you remember the date you bought it as long as it has been refrigerated the entire time 3 days after you buy it, if it has been more than three days and been in the fridge don't use it or if you can't remember when you bought it throw it out. When in doubt throw it out. The meat though can have the brown spots from the blood leaving the surface and draining into the packaging if there is no blood on the surface the meat turns brown which is fine, and it can turn brown from being in the freezer too long, freezer burn can make your meat discolored......just remember when in doubt throw it out, the cost of fresh meat is much cheaper than a night of IV fluids in the hospital because of food poisoning!!!!
