Is it safe to eat snails from Torch River, MI?!

Question:

Is it safe to eat snails from Torch River, MI?

We have snails in the bayou/old river channel of Torch River. They are as big as the ones you buy. Are they safe? Do they taste ok? How would I clean and prepare them?

Answers:
Sure. They're yummy! Wash them thoroughly in cold water while brushing them off. Steam them and prepare a butter/garlic sauce then, go ahead and enjoy.

Yes very safe to eat
you just stem them up

Snot in a shell huh...I wouldn't suggest it...no telling what garbage and chemicals are dumped into rivers these days.
