If I eat this am I going to be okay?!

Question:

If I eat this am I going to be okay?

Tomorrow, my school is having a field day. I'm in a lot of the sports and I want energy, so I put together this little energy pack. My energy pack consists of Rockstar Energy Drink, Nerds, Vitamin Water, one bar of Hershey's Chocolate, and some Orbit Citrusmint gum.
Would I be okay after eating/drinking all of this?

Answers:
No, because after eating a bunch of sugar, you do have a burst of energy, but it's a very short burst followed by a big crash and you'll feel more tired than you did before. Same goes for those so-called energy drinks. They're LOADED with sugar. You're better off having cereal and fruit for breakfast and having something high in protein for lunch.

Haven't you forgotten the benefits of real fresh fruit, and a turkey sandwich? Nothing you mention is natural, and what about fresh pure water?

no. wait to eat until you get into the emergency room.

too much quick burning energy. Won't help you, and might make you sick.

Youll be okay for a while but the effects will probably wear off quick. I would eat some grapes, apple, and a banana instead of sweets because your be drained after a while. Fruits make me feel refreshed especially if you drink cool water and eat the fruits cool.

Are u kidding? U'll be sick......hyper too the teeeee......
Eat a healthy meal. Not junk.

the viatamin water is fine
the rest... not so great
try a granola bar (they really dont taste bad... well most of them dont)
juices
oranges and apples give you a lot of energy
id really suggest staying away from the candy and rockstar because although that might give you some energy for a while you will crash and thats never fun

it kinda sucks but shes right all the sugar makes u get from the candy and energy drink will make u hipper for a short while and then you will be tierd faster because it doesnt stay active in your system for very long the natural sugars and enegery producing stuff in fruit work longer and r better for u in the long run

Eat something healthy before school (fruit) and drink plenty of water. Avoid the sugar as much as possible....if you're being active, you don't want it.

That may be the worst thing you can do!!Those energy drinks are filled with nothing but caffeine. You will get a very quick spike in energy, but the drop off will be far worse and the side effects will range from queasiness,headaches,nervousne... and the potential for some serious problems.

Try getting a good night sleep the night before. When you wake up have a good breakfast.Plain oatmeal with a banana and a side of scrambled eggs works for me.At lunch,a peanutbutter and jelly sandwich plus some fruit is good.Stay light on the sugar so choose a sugar free or reduced sugar jelly.

Make sure you drink plenty of water.Gatorade and Vitamin water is not as good for you as you may think. You can get the same nutrients as Gatorade from drinking water and eating a banana without all the sugar.Make sure you drink periodically, not just when you are thirsty.

Above all,have fun!

ya might get a quick burst of energy and then might throw it all up not really wise to eat all that

First of all, if you have to ask if you're going to be okay, then you probably aren't. The vitamin water is probably the only good thing that I would keep in that little energy pack of yours. Maybe the gum, for afterwards or something. I suggest you bring lots of high calorie HEALTHY foods.

Ironically, the very foods we so often rely on for quick energy--concentrated sources of sugar, like candy bars or soda--are the very foods that you should avoid if you want enduring energy.

What's the ideal mix? High (but not exclusively) carbohydrates, moderate protein, low (but not no) fat. Think of a turkey sandwich with low-fat mayo.

Nature Valley chewy granola bars, apples, bananas, baby carrots, bagels, chunks of cheese, peanut butter crackers, PBJ sandwich, can of V-8 juice or 100% fruit juice. Aim for a balance of protein, carbs and fruit/veggies.

All of those would be WONDERFUL. Try all that instead of Hersheys or Nerds.

With all that sugar you will get quick energy but it won't stay for long and then you will have a low where you won't feel very good. If you want energy drink try Gatorade and then maybe take some fruit or even raisins are good. But dump all those empty calories. Stay with the natural fruits and drinks. All those high energy drinks for me is garbage. Like they say garbage in garbage out.
