Answers:
The seeds of most fruits, including apples, contain vitamin B17 (laetrile), which is successfully used in cancer therapy and prevention.
It is most concentrated in Apricot seeds and bitter Almonds, but other fruits' seeds contain it too.
...So yes, its good to eat the seeds.

Yes
they actually contain arsenic (so goes the wives tail) but the human gut Cannot digest them so hell just pass them, dont worry about it =P
if people died from eating apple cores youd know, they been around a few thousand years
Yes its fine the pips do contain cianide, but the levels are so low that there should be any ill-effects.
i dont as old wives tale said get stuck in ur appendix so never did but still had appendix out lol
it is scientifically proven that there is a 50% chance that you might grow a plant in your stomache so i suggest you not to
If you eat apple pips one day a tree will grow out of your head.........
I am like you. I eat the skin and the flesh but leave the pips and core. Obviously eating the pips does not harm you, but I suppose it's what your used to .Same as when using apples in a tart or pie it is usual to discard the pips and core before cooking..They even make corers to use before baking apples in the oven.It would appear that it is more usual not to eat the pips.
not to sure on that one hunny, lol. it is rather weird bless him. I've never heard of any body eating the whole apple before, lol. if he starts sprouting leaves out of his ears id start to panic, lol. take care sweety xx
It is true that the seeds contain arsenic, but also, eating the seeds of your fruit can help reduce the risk of cancer. They have vitamin B17 that is really good for that. I eat the whole thing, too!
Yes. Your husband's right, you can eat the lot.
I believe it`s fine. I too eat the whole core as do some of my friends. Hasn`t done us any harm. Surely it`s no different to eating pumpkin seeds or sunflower seeds or even tomato pips. It`s just a matter of personal taste.
I eat the whole apple without leaving the core. I've been doing it for nearly 30 years and so far I have not noticed any adverse side effects.
they contain arsenic, so your husband will mythridathize against this poison, it's fine. I have always eat them, so in case your husband feels lonely for this reason, tell him he's not!
p.s.: it's VERY worst to eat the skin of the apples: unless they are organically grown, it contains large amounts of pesticides, since apple trees are very delicate and "need" them
The whole thing is okay, it's just that the core is very tough and is mostly cellulose which is non-digestible fibre so there is no great benefit to eating the core.
I don't eat the core myself because the texture is unpleasant and tough.
Hey don't shout too loud about it, They may pass a law to say it's illegal or not politically correct to eat the whole of your Apple.......Because someone somewhere my just get a little offended...lol
But hey i wouldn't worry about hm eating the lot, what he don't digest will just come out the other end..But if he starts getting an itchy backside, the pip's might have taken root..lol.
Ofcourse it is ok to, I eat the whole apple too, well as long as the apple tastes good!
Take care :)
Hi!
Despite being told by my mum that an apple tree would grow in my belly if I ate the pips, I've eaten the whole apple (minus the stalk) from childhood. The pips are the best tasting part. I also love the nut inside peach stones.
While working with great apes, I had to eat unpeeled bananas so that the young would not imitate my peeling and lose a valuable source of roughage. I do not eat banana peel now.
Some people sense nutrient sources they need (like expectant mothers "cravings") and it may be that you don't need the core elements while hubby does. Hope it doesn't get on your pip watching him devour an apple ;-)
Good wishes.
If you don't eat the apple core - throw it out for the birds. My blackbird family love almost any fruit waste.
yeah it is fine but watch out in case some branches grow out of his nose or bottom.....my mum always said if i ate the pips an apple tree would grow in my tummy!!
Yes, it is ok to eat the whole apple.
However, there is one recorded incident of a man who had a particular fondness for the seeds and saved up a whole cup of them to eat all at once. He died.
I don't think that they can cause any harm, but my mum always told me as a child that if you eat the pips then an apple tree will grow in your belly! She was a great mum!
No! Because a tree will grow inside you.
Seriously though...Yes! it's OK to eat the pips but remember, they contain arsnic, but only a small dose.
I think its fine to eat pips from an apple
its fine to eat them
I eat the whole apple, apparently it's good for you.
:) xx
tell your husband to stop , i done it once and i turned into a newt,
took me ages to get better
im ok now though
Only if you want legs like tree trunks!
hehe when i was little my mummy told me that if i ate the pips an apple tree would grow in my tummy... hehe i'm sure this won't happen...because the stomach acid and all your enzymes will break down the pip, and if it's unable to be broken down, it'll just pass through normally...:)
i wondered what that twig was sticking out of my ***.
I would think that if you want to eat it then do, coz if the pips are not digested they will find their way out of your system! ( I remember when i was a little girl my big brother told me that if you ate the pips an apple tree would grow inside your tummy...........always one for a challenge i tried it, and nothing happened!!! :) ) Ooops, just noticed someone said almost the same as me...never mind!
