Shepherds / Cottage Pie: What's the difference?!

Question:

Shepherds / Cottage Pie: What's the difference?

OK, may sound a little strange but have got a bet on this: What is the difference between a Cottage and a Shepherd pie?

Answers:
Cottage Pie uses Minced Beef, Shepherds Pie uses Minced Lamb

Cottage - minced beef.
Sheperds - minced lamb. Easy really, a cow is as big as a house, a shepherd herds sheep.

Dear Friend,

According to me there is no difference.

Both gets made with the main ingredients being:
Minced Beef
Mashed potatoes topping
Baked in the oven.

For variations:
top with cheese

I think it is a preference to the name, that is all.
Let me know please.
Suz

Cottage -> minced beef.

shepherds - heard sheep - soe sepherds pie contain Lamb not mutton lol otherwise it would be tough to eat and obviously cottage is young beef.
