Found a white powdery substance in 2 different gallons of Flav-O-Rich milk?!
Found a white powdery substance in 2 different gallons of Flav-O-Rich milk?
I've purchased a couple gallons of milk at a local store today and when I opened them and poured some in my coffee, I noticed a white powdery substance floating around on the surface of my coffee. I smelled the milk to see if it was ruined, but it still smelled okay. I then poured some out in a cup and this powdery stuff came out in clumps, it looked like clabbered milk, but the milk did not smell ruined, it smelled like milk is supposed to smell. I opened the second jug and it too had powdery stuff in it, but not as bad as the first.
Has anyone else experienced this and know what it is, or is this something I should really worry about. I personally have never noticed any powdery substance in store bought milk before. Any advice on what to do concerning this problem would be greatly appreciated.

I know I should take it back to the store, but should I report it to the FDA or whoever you report something like this too?

Take the said milk back to the store of original purchase immediately. Do not consume. Email Flavo Rich and tell them of the problem and the FDA at fda.gov. There is a link on the FDA page to report a product. It may be an isolated case because I havent heard anything on the milk (yet). With all the many products being recalled, I would report all "suspicious" food.
Return the milk to the shop, where you bought it from
