Milk prices?!?!?!
Milk prices?!?!?
Went to the grocery store last night...a gallon of milk is $5.34?!? and a half gallon is $3.22?!?! WTF??
Did cows go on strike or something? First gas and now this...maybe we should have a "National Don't Buy...Milk Day"!
Answers:
well it's no the farmer making the money.. they get paid by the pound of milk not by the gallon. on average they get $18-20.00 per 100 pounds.. and there's 8 pounds/gallon..
figure it out.. they get very little per "gallon".

grew up on a farm.
I am beginning to think the only way to beat company profits is to do it yourself , a small farm or a community farm and grow your own so to speak .
I just moved from the Chicago Subs to this hick town and out there I can always buy milk for $1.99. Everywhere out here it is more than $3. It stinks.
I know! I used to buy milk for $3.99 and now it cost $5.49!!!
Unless milk is raw (unprocessed), it is not fit to drink, anyway.
So don't buy it.
There are alternatives.
I do not know where you live, but here in Michigan milk prices have also jumped, it is probably due to the fact that gas is so high that prices are being raised to help cover the higher cost of fuel which raises the cost of delivery. It seems that the price of everything goes up except our paychecks.
You can buy Organic Whole Milk at Walmart cheaper than that ,and there are no antibiotics or hormones in it!
You shouldnt drink the regular milk, it is NOT good for you, especially children
