Where in the UK can I buy horsemeat?
I'm all for trying anything once and want to try horsemeat. Please don't flame me if you don't have an answer.
Answers:
Go to the service entrance at 10 Downing Street and tell them Tony sent you.
norfolk
Hopefully nowhere as I would have thought that the Uk would be against selling such a thing! Although we do still sell veal which is outrageous! Try China or Japan thay will eat anything because they have no shame!
go to the grand national next year, thier will be at least one horse killed that you can buy.
gross
Silly question, but have you tried searching the Internet? Many UK butchers slaughter horses, but whether or not they would sell the meat to you is a different matter. I think most of it is destined for Europe any way.
you cant you have to order it from france
The knackers yard, Slaughter house if you wanna call it either way.
There is one up were I live.God its horrible when you 1st go in. I buy tripe there for my dogs & boil it up (outside of course you smelled that stuff YUK)
They have all sorts hanging from ceilings with big hooks hanging there with there throat cut draining the blood, as I said horrible I have ever only seen 2 horses in there though, Cant imaging horses being nice though animals are usually quite fat what I have seen horses have been old but they have been well muscled can imagine them being tough as old boots
Horsemeat is lean, protein-rich, finely textured, bright red, firm, and more so horses are immune to BSE (Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy).
Horse and Pepper Pie
1 pound ground horse meat
2 cups sweet red peppers, with sauce
1 onion, chopped
1 (4.5 ounce) can sliced mushrooms, drained
1 cup shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
1 recipe pastry for a 9 inch double crust pie
Place peppers, including liquid, into food processor; pulse until
peppers are cut into small pieces.
Brown horse meat and onions. Add peppers, mushrooms, and cheese to
meat mixture. Spoon into bottom crust. Cover with top crust, and
seal the edges.
Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) until crust is brown, and
pie is heated through.

Now getting it in the UK could be a major problem, bit squeamish for some. So your best chance would be to nip over the channel to France and Belgium or contact a local butcher
burger king
You can ask your local butcher he may know, I tried it once, I would not recommend it though.
any kebab shop in england......ooops sorry thats elephant leg!!!!!!!!!
Don't know so I will be keeping an eye on this question to see if someone else knows. I think horse meat will definitely become more acceptable in the UK and having eaten it in France I look forward to it being sold in more outlets over here.
any slaughter house will sell you some, it is just like a strong roast beef, i had some once before i knew what it was, not worth butchering a horse for.
I heard that gordon ramsay is trying to bring in the fashion of horse meat so if this is true then i imagine you would or will be able to get it at one of his restaurants!
im afraid you cant because we dont eat horses as they are kept as pets
on the f-word, they were saying that you can't buy horsemeat in the uk, but you can buy it from abroad, France I think.
