Chicken noodle soup works too, it's cliche and lame, but whatever, you'll get all better!

A nice big hot bowl of scotch broth.

Chicken soup and mashed potato really does make you feel better!!!

hot tea

chocolate

Go to your local Italian and have a plate of crespolini washed down with half a bottle of Valpolicella. It doesn't make the cold any better, but it's as good an excuse as any.

The staple chicken noodle, but I like any soup that isnt creamy (cream causes phlem) I add a little cayanne pepper for the added heat (helps clear sinuses) Anything thats spicy helps me. I love ginger ale also, maybe it realy soesnt do much but I was raised believing it does and the power of suggestion works on me. I also Like tea with a little honey and toast. Stay away from overly sweet things if you are phlemmy because it will create more and make cou cough.

hot mashed potato, chicken soup

Chicken and rice soup. Crackers and peanut butter. Tomato soup.

Chicken noodle soup is OK but you want something that will open you up. As weird as it sound I like Mexican. I also like a good shot of Irish whisky.

Whisky with hot water, lemon and honey is good

sounds bad but i eat fish and chips or at least chips, with lots of salt when i have a cold. it actually makes me feel so much better! don't know why but everytime i'm sick i reach for the chips.

I know this sounds goofy but it has worked for myself and a friend who couldn't get over bronchitis...and it worked for my honey when he had a "stomach virus" ..

Take a pot, fill it a third way up with water... then add Chicken boullion or broth..to me broth and boullion mixed is best... after it starts boiling add a little onion (finely chopped)... then grab everything green in your cabinets seasonings... and be friendly with it, don't just do dashes... chives, parsley, sage, rosemary....... and lots of it... then when its all boiling, crack open about 4 or 5 eggs in a bowl... add a dash of milk and scramble really good with a whisk or fork.... then as this conglomeration starts to really bubble and boil, slowly add the scrambled up egg (raw of course) and mix gently with a wooden or plastic spoon so that it breaks apart easily-- it and wahlah, your done, salt and be very generous with pepper...to taste... if you like you can add noodles (very small noodles) to this mixture too, but begin with the noodles first, then add the other stuff... its similar to egg drop soup, the key here is all the greens in your cabinet... well good luck.. its worked for family, friends and myself...

Just a story... a friend had bronchitis and it just kept getting worse, and her docs kept prescribing antibiotics.. I lived right behind her house... and one day I felt so bad, so I took that over to her house...a big pot..it was embarrassing because, it doesn't look all that tasty, but I told her to try it if she likes... an hour later, she calls me asking to hurry and make her another pot, that she was finally able to breath and that since her kids had runny noses she made them all eat it, and I took her over another pot and by nightfall/the next morning all their symptoms were gone... it could've been coincidence.. I suppose.. time for the cold to wear off, who knows... I think I may have prayed too.. God Bless you and I hope you get better, will say a prayer for you too..

i have just got over the flu and was eating lots of chilli nice and spicy i had it on jacket potato with creamy coleslaw or stodgy food like chip sandwuches with lots of butter mmmm
