What is animal rennet?!

Question:

What is animal rennet?

Answers: It's the enzyme found in a mammal's stomach that enables it to digest it's mother's milk correctly. They use it to make cheese, too, though it's possible to find cheese made without it.
Found a link with explanations... Source(s):
http://biology.clc.uc.edu/fankhauser/che... It comes from the lining of a calves stomach. Rennet is a complex of enzymes. It may be a chemical term referring to general rennets about animals. Its an enzyme derived from the 4th stomach of slaughtered veal calves, and is used in cheesemaking. There are now a good variety of cheeses available made from vegetarian rennet. Yup, bluntly, baby cow stomach juice.
REAL traditional cheese is NOT made with this crap.
