Vegetarians Do you preach against meat eating choices?!

Question:

Vegetarians Do you preach against meat eating choices?

A few militant meat eaters are accusing Vegetarians of criticizing them for their choice of eating meat, I am sure there are some vegetarians who do that, but as one who doesn't, I want to see out of the vegetarians who answer this question, what percentage criticize meat eaters.
Do you try to convert meat eaters to become vegetarian?

Thanks for all answers, as a vegetarian, I lost respect for a vegan, who said only vegans are vegetarian. I never invented the word, or its meaning, and I wouldn't want to be like him.

Thanks for all answers, as a vegetarian, I lost respect for a vegan, who said only vegans are vegetarian. I never invented the word, or its meaning, and I wouldn't want to be like him. I don't "preach" in the manner in which people say.I don't go up to someone and call them a murderer, but if the topic comes up,then I will let them know how I feel,I don't think it is okay to eat meat, because it isn't needed, and it involves needlesss killing. If someone asks, then I tell, but I don't just go up to someone an tell them to become a vegan.I feel the best way to promote veganism,or any lifestyle choice for that matter,is to be a living, breathing example that vegans can be healthy, eat more than salads, etc,it really starts to get weird when people become pushy with lifestyle choices, take religion for example. Conscientious vegan No I don't..... each to their own I say.
Although I get meat eaters taking the micky out of me and trying to force me to eat meat, I don't tell them not to eat it so they should just leave me alone! I never preach to meat eaters, ever. I'm vegetarian by choice, if other people choose to eat meat that's their choice and is fine by me. I've never tried to make anyone vegetarian and would never refuse to deal with meat for a non-vegetarian. Just because I won't eat it doesn't mean others shouldn't either. no never, meat eaters do try to convert me i just say no thanks its my choice not to eat meat.. but if i ever tried to convert them i would get a load of bull from them like animals was put on this earth to be eaten etc everyone is entitled to eat what they want ........ No , as a matter of fact I am a good cook with meats and most of my family is meat eating. That's normally not what I intend to do when I first meet or talk to people. It's just usually I'm the one who gets critisized first if they find out I'm vegan. So then I defend my beliefs and then I'm accused of being a crazy PETA person trying to convert the world when I all I was doing was explaining why I was vegan and why I think it's a good choice.

The only time I really push a meat eater to become vegetarian or vegan is when they have a response like, "well I want to be vegetarian, but it's too hard." Otherwise, most likely I'm just talking to ignorant people who purposely do not want to know better and don't care about the benefits, so I tend not to waist my time because then I'd just get constant stupid remarks about how "it's not natural" or "you're not healthy" when I probably look like the healthiest one in the room. I like to give meat eaters information about vegans and vegetarian lifestyles because I believe very strongly in the ethical treatment of animals. I'm not ashamed I try to convert meat eaters, although I'm sure some people find this annoying. I just look at it this way, people have been trying to get me to eat meat all my life, it's my turn to let people know how I feel when they eat meat (and how the animals feel).

I show off the fact that I am a vegan, you know the shirts and junk, because raising awareness has never been a bad thing. I would love it if more than 0.2% to 1.3% of the US were vegans. It would seriously help the way our world is going these days.

Yes, I do TRY to convert meat eaters with knowledge not fear tactics. preach? No...I sometimes make comments to only those I am close to. Not nasty comments..just factual ones. hey!
i admit i dont agree with people eating meat therefore i do moan at people,I'm 13 and my dad is a meat eater who basically doesn't give a sh*t that he is eating an animal that has been murdered but i dont go around telling strangers they are eating dead animals coz they should know that already or there just dumb lol
i will fight for animals lives and i dont care what "meat eaters"think about it! No, never. I do not like it when others preach to be about what I do or do not wish to eat, I would expect others to feel the same way so do not do it.

It upsets me when people find out I am a vegetarian and they then decide that I must be a crazy animal-rights activist who throws blood over people, and that what would do me good would be to eat a hunk of red meat. I wish I could be left alone, but unfortunately there are the odd few rude people who ruin it for everyone. I could give a flip what anyone else eats-its their concern, not mine. I make my choices (vegetarian), and allow my children to make theirs (12 year old daughter is veggie, 22 and 24 year old sons are meat eaters) I have better things to occupy my time than to worry about what someone chooses to consume-life is too short for such nonsense Nope, my mom is vegan but she is the only vegan I know (and she became one after me, but not because of me). My boyfriend and his family (who I'm with 50% of the time) are meat eaters and his stepdad used to harass me about not eating meat, while I never said anything to him. I think this is more common than vegetarians verbally assaulting meat eaters, unless you're an extremist.

To most people it seems okay to harass someone (vegetarian/vegan) that isn't doing what's "normal" to a certain extent, but if a vegan were to say anything to a meat eater about their eating habits, because they are "normal", that person would get really pissed off. nope. its their choice. I don't harass people, but I certainly will preach the benefits of a vegetarian diet and let people know why a diet of animal products is horrible. Most people don't know the truth. They eat meat and drink milk because it tastes good and it's what they grew up believing was good for them. How are they going to know the truth if no one tells them? Clearly you can't rely on the media or the powers that be to inform people because the ramifications would be too big - the meat and dairy industries would die and they are too powerful to let that happen plus the idea that they are seriously harmful to our health, despite the studies that show this to be true, are too provocative for most people. They would be skeptical. So, I would feel guilty if I didn't pass the word and try and let people know, particularly the people I love. It would be like knowing there was a bomb in someone's house and not telling them about it. I also do no service to the horrendously treated animals in the animal food industries when I do not educate others about them. If I truly believed it was just a food choice, I wouldn't care. But there are innocent animals at stake and there are people's LIVES at stake. No. It serves no purpose to preach. It only alienates people
farther from a veggie lifestyle. theres no point in preaching. if im asked why i dont eat meat i just say i dont like it. i dont say why i dont like it because meat eaters dont want to know. I am a vegan and no I don't try and convert meat eaters.I don't agree with what they do but I don't get in their face about it. I try not to preach against meat eaters. My whole family are carnivores, and so I get used to it. But one thing that I do tr to stop people from doing is throwing away meat. If they want to eat meat, that's their choice, but meat that's thrown away is an animal that's died, literally, for no reason.
