A vegetarian diet is absolutely better for people. There are disease known as "western diseases" which occur mostly in the western world where more animal protein is consumed. There are new studies that show many kife-threatening diseases (cancer, heart disease, diabetes) are linked to consuming animal proteins. if you are really interested in the science behind why eating animal proteins is really bad for you check out a book called THE CHINA STUDY. It's be most comprehenseive study of nutrition ever done and the results are incredible and mind-blowing. There are a bunch of other studies cited in the book as well. I highly recommend it. Here's an article on vegetarian nutrition for athletes: http://www.andrews.edu/nufs/vegathletes.... The vegetarian diet is most definitely better for our ailing planet!! You can't just stop eating meat and expect to be healthy, but with a bit of effort and understanding of your nutritional needs you'll find that it is not hard at all to have a well balanced diet without meat. You must make the effort to ensure that you get enough protein, iron and vitamins. The first website below lists sports people who are vegetarians and the second one will help you to choose what to eat. Make sure you eat lots of tree nuts, so people will keep growing trees!! Although I am not one, it's actually better for your health as long as you take enough protein. It is not compatible since you need to build strong muscles fast and recover from injuries. That's tough if you're a vegetarian. Well i'm a vegetarian, its very easy. There are hundreds of recipes out their. Im still fit and healthy and can do sport just like any other person. You wouldn't really know I was a vegetarian. But I am. I don't eat fish either, but maybe you should.
It dosn't take any longer or shorter to preapre a vegetarian meal, so if you only have a short time then its still easy. You could maybe a big pot of vegetable soup for lunch and have it for a couple of days in a row.

I think being a vegetarian is a good idea, if vegetaraisn keep a balanced diet, they are more likley to live longer than the avegarge meet-eater.

If your unsure, then go to your doctor, they can point you out in the right direction Most definitely!!!
There are many, many vegetarian bodybuilders... I think that says enough...
