Is it wise of Peta (an animal rights group) to use non-vegetarian endorsers to support them in public?!
Is it wise of Peta (an animal rights group) to use non-vegetarian endorsers to support them in public?
For example, Shilpa Shetty supports Peta but she is not a vegetarian. What message does that give?
Answers: PETA does a lot of work outside of educating people on vegetarianism. My mother loves animals and donates to many shelters, but she eats meat. We can't all be perfect. I am a vegetarian, but not vegan. I don't see the problem with a non-vegetarian educating people on animal testing, or shelter adoptions. that meat eaters as well as non meat eaters can get along to protect animals. some people just want industrial farms to change their killing ways. vegetarian or not.

to Thb: where'd you get that little "fact" of yours? Repeating what you heard from a never tried to learn the facts, never been vegan or vegetarian, always against something from the norm friend? Just because PETA People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) is an animals rights group does not mean that non vegetarians are the only ones that support them. PETA is also very involved with how animals are treated. (which is their biggest Campaign ) So if you are for fair treatment of animals not just the ones humans consume, Than yes it is OK! if i tell u 2 do smthng good but im not doin it thats wrong they should practice what the preach it says that anyone can support fair treatyment of animals regardless of if they wat meat or animal products. i eat meat but i would be upset if someone went around killing animals for no apparent reason. peta kills more animals than they rescue
i am a vegetarian and i used to support peta but the more i learn about them the more i hate them

http://www.exoticcatz.com/dontbanpetatru... PETA is not only about being vegetarian, there are many different ways to support animals. Alicia Silverstone said (something like) If people are vegetarian but still wear leather they are not bad because every little thing makes a difference. Is it wise? Of course it is. When you are a miniority of the population like us vegetarians and vegans are, it is VERY WISE to get celebrity or other kinds of endorsements to help expand your image to help expand your beliefs. Yeah, I don't see why not. PETA does advertise vegetarianism, but its main message is to stop animal cruelty (animal testing, circus, dissection, etc) and vegetarianism is only a fraction of it. Thos who are not vegetarians, such as Shilpa Shetty, Al Sharpton, etc... who support or have supported PETA are for more humane treatment of animals. Of course it's wise.
The world doesn't change over night, it takes gradual steps. This kind of help makes those little steps possible. peta sucks, but they sure do make a lot of money off you guys
