Is there any bad side or harmful about ketchup ??!

Question:

Is there any bad side or harmful about ketchup ??

Answers: Well, I've heard the tomatoes are not that clean in a lot of ketchup and that a lot of bugs and gross stuff gets cooked up with it, but how much of that stuff is urban legend and truth...? I dunno. Some have also said that the "natural flavoring" contains beef but I've also heard that refuted. It does contain a lot of sugar and a lot of salt. There's the pesticides that might be in non-organic ketchup. And most ketchup will use high fructose corn syrup as the sweetener, which my gut keeps telling me is EVIL. I buy organic ketchup and use it every once in a great while. Source(s):
Regarding KETCHUP vs. CATSUP...

"Neither spelling, "catsup" or "ketchup", is more correct than the other. The only difference I know of is that people who strive too hard for correctness invariably seem to prefer "catsup." Perhaps they imagine that there is some connection with "cat's supper," but anyone who has dealt with cats wouldn't dream of trying to feed them ketchup.

Human beings, on the other hand, love catsup. Americans eat it, according to a recent article in Vogue, at the rate of three bottles per person per year. But the original ketchup bore little resemblance to what might be called our national sauce. The words "ketchup" and "catsup" both come from the Malay word "kechap," from the Chinese word "ketsiap," a sauce made from fermented fish and brine. Pickled fish sauce may not sound all that appealing on french fries, but the Malay word "kechap" itself really only meant "taste." After the word migrated into English in the 17th century (as "catchup," still an accepted spelling), it was applied to a variety of sauces and condiments. It was only with the importation of the tomato to Europe from its native habitat in South America that what we now know as ketchup was born. Modern ketchup is made of tomato sauce, vinegar, sugar and spices, and not a speck, thank heavens, of pickled fish."

http://www.word-detective.com/back-d.htm... In prisons, they use ketchup and fruit to make toilet wine. True story. Very high acidic count but allso good if your gut can handle it. I hope not. I love ketchup! yes,its not good for heart It's got a lot of sugar in it. if it's got high-fructose corn syrup, that's bad. That stuff will just help make you fat.

and ketchup makes you have horrible grammar. No, not at all. unless your allergic to ketchup or the ingredients in it. hope i helped. Only the Green Ketchup..and with the red the VERY harmful factor is if you get it on your clothes..it stains. Umm...basically ketchup is surgar and tomato mixed together. So, if you like that, and you wanna get fat, then go for it. old tomatoes and vinegar, and a bunch of other stuff. I only use it on french fries, hamburgers, and potatoes. yes there are two;

The additives etc in ketchup, will make you or the eater (if eaten consistently too much) will make you fatter.

and secondly if you eat too much you turn red. It has a lot of sugar. There can be nothing wrong with ketchup except some people find it gross when I use it on my eggs and bacon.

Ketchup has lipoprotiens in it that may help prevent heart disease. Read the ingredients on any bottled or packaged food you are planning to eat. If the ingredients look good to you, and if the product is made by a company you trust, don't worry.

Every product has different ingredients even though they may have the same name. For instance if you read the label on every brand of ketchup you would probably notice that each one is made with slightly different ingredients. In junior high I tried a ketchup diet. I ate nothing but little packets of ketchup for two days until I got sick and now I can't even think about ketchup without the gag reflexes kicking in. You can put it on anything. Put it on a tree limb or a car bumper and they will taste good. Low in carbs...no fat...no cholesterol....maybe a little too much sodium if that concerns you.....and sugar. A lot of sugar. However not enough to ruin a diet. Ketchup used be spelled and pronounced "catsup". It stains if you dribble it on your shirt. Yes, many ketchups such as Heinz use high fructose corn syrup as one of the first three ingredients. However that does NOT mean you have to miss out on ketchup; Trader Joe's exclusively sells "organic ketchup". The price is higher than commercial ketchups but it's worth it--no HFCS (High Fructose Corn Syrup) is included. Why is HFCS so bad, you ask? It alters something in your brain, causing you to think you're not full when you really are--and this leads some people to overeat. Also, it causes liver damage and the chance of finding a healthy liver that your body will accept is low. Lets hope not i love ketchup i mean whats fries with out the ketchup??? Not really. Some brands have added refined sugar though.
