check out this website for some really good recipes divided up into what meal course they apply to--very helpful! oh, and as for your actual question, it wont harm you, but tofu straight out of the package basically has no taste--it takes on the taste of what you mix it with. So, you can eat it right out of the package, but i wouldn't..... You can eat it right out of the package...it's not good like that, but whatever floats your boat. You can eat it cold but I recommend that you put in a hot soup like Szechuan hot and sour soup or lightly fry it first. It also depends on the type of Tofu or Soya Bean Curd that you have. Very healthy and high in protein. Enjoy! {:-) Just a heads up. A co-worker of mine went vegan and started eating a lot of tofu. She has gained over 20 pounds in the last 6 months! She heard that eating tofu can cause you to gain weight. I'm not sure if that is what did it but the poor girl is beside herself. You might want to look into tofu or how to structure a healthy vegetarian diet. Kudos for cutting down on meat though. I don't eat very much of it either..... Yes you can eat it right from the package. It is great with stir fry veggies. you haft to put tofu in a strainer with a weight let it drain i use a saucer plate and wrap the tofu so it can drain in the sink then you add it to anything you like it takes on what ever your cooking mix with chicken taste like chicken you cook beef it tase like beef----- go to recipe tofu Yes tofu can be eaten cold, toss it in salad it's great source of protein. Stir-Fried is good to with some crisp veggies. Mad cat is right! drain it first!

I can't eat tofu, I have a terrible allergic reaction from it, but I love Miso! Yes, you can eat it right from the package if you prefer but you might want to add a little lemon juice or soy sauce on top for flavor. Tofu is also good cubed over a stir fry. Yes, here is a picture of a typical uncooked tofu dish with a sauce on it.

Most of the time people cook it though (basically heating it up). I like tofu becuase of all of the things you can do with it. My favorite tofu dishes are agedashi tofu and vegan cheesecake.
