Why are you vegan/veggie?!
Why are you vegan/veggie?
Personally, we became vegan strictly for the health benefits. I don't see a problem eating animals other than what it does to our bodies. **but I respect your point if you do see something wrong with it =)
And I always do find it odd that most vegan/veggies are really judgemental. Why is that? I don't get it. They are very protective over their "tittle" and if someone wants to be included then they go into a soap-box type of convo, letting others know that they aren't this or that.
I just don't think that is the way to help convert people over to our diets. I dunno.
Before we were vegan we always ran into judgemental people who couldn't get passed that we just eat fish (now we are fish-free though).
=) Just curious thats all.
Answers: I became a vegetarian also for the health benefits and 2 out 3 of my kids eat meat. So when we have a family dinner or barbecue we cook two types of food. It doesn't bother them and it doesn't bother my husband or my son and his wife. I'm a vegetarian and I'm not judge mental. i became a vegetarian because of the health benefits and i feel bad about eating animals. I'm not a vegetarian at all, but I work in a school district that is primarily 7th Day Adventist so they are because of their religion which advocates it because of health reasons I think. The people there don't seem to mind that I'm not a vegetarian, but they are friendly and let me try their vegetarian/vegan foods when I feel brave. In the cafeteria line the kids are asked "meat or veggie" when a meat option is available. Anyway, I don't think all vegetarians/vegans are judgemental. i am a veggie becuz its a part of my religion not to eat meat or any animal because some people dont like the taste I'm not a vegetarian, and try not to be judgmental, but earlier today some 13 or 14 year old girl asked a question on here about her parents not supporting her decision to be a vegetarian and her mom would not cook her separate meals. As a parent I don't see how her mom could be expected to cook separate meals for her and told her that, and she turned me in for a violation, does yahoo even read these complaints or just take them on someones word and send you a notice? I'm a vegetarian, because I love animals, and for health too.I just think the more people know, than better chance they can change for their own good ,and for the benefit of the environment, and animals. But,you can't make anyone change. well I think a lot of it is explaining, arguing, justifying, defending a very personal diet to every Tom Dick & Harry, and listening a thousand times to their justifications, until you've gotten really sick of it and simply want to put an end to that conversation. I've been veggie 40 yrs. now and don't wish to discuss its merits with anyone, anymore. If it's dead, I don't eat it, and anything whose seeds, cuttings and roots are still alive isn't dead. Anyone who wants to dispute eggs, cheese, honey, etc. I say fine, come back & talk about it when you've maintained for 40 years. As for converting anyone, I've certainly converted more than a few but never made a point of it; people come to it when they're ready, until then you can talk til you're blue in the face and it'll get you precisely nowhere. I find meat eaters more judgemental and condemning, vegetarianism is fun , creative and more of a wealth of variety of foods, it taste clean and fresh , and does not clog up your capillaries and vanes , so you get more oxygen to your brain and body. well im a vegetarian for the moral reasons, i just get sad when i think of the animals I became vegetarian well i was thinking about doing it for a while i also lots of videos on youtube and on numerous number sites showing the slaughter of animals every time i ate meat i thought of the vidoes it made want to puke maybe after a week of not eating meat i tryed it again i puked i now hate it I am not judgemental but i can't be around people eating it with no mannners.
