Is fish and shrimp considered meat to a vegetarian. What about chicken ?!

Question:

Is fish and shrimp considered meat to a vegetarian. What about chicken ?

I'm just curious if beef is the only bad meat to vegetarians. what about pork?

Answers: Strict Vegetarians don't eat any animals, which include: mammals, poultry, insects, reptiles, shellfish, or fish.

However, there *are* subcategories of vegetarianism:

Pescetarianism - fish etc. is allowed (non-mammal variety)
Pollotarianism - poultry is allowed
Flexitarianism - you can eat meat *occasionally*

I'm in the last category. I refer to myself as a "90% Vegetarian" When I do eat meat, it's organic grain-fed, free range poultry or locally caught fish from a lake that I *know* is free of mercury etc. It's the best that I can do. There is no right or wrong way to vegetarianism: do what's best for you, your family, your health, and your conscience. no all meat is bad to them . I have a nicece that is a vegan . she drives me crazy with it . good luck . Everything you mentioned in your question is considered meat to vegetarians. Vegetarian are just that. No meat all vegetables. Anything that came from an animal (mammal, marine animal, avian or whatever else, pork too) is considered non-vegatarian. A vegetarian would not eat any of those things. Vegetarian will only eat certain animal byproducts (milk, eggs, etc...)

A vegan eats no animals or byproducts. I know that there are different levels of vegetarians, but I think for the most part chicken and pork along with beef are the three big no no's, as for fish and shrimp I think some do and some don't depends on the person and their feelings as to why they are vegetarians Well i think it is anything that has to die. Pigs , chickens, fish, shrimp, cows, turkey, and lambs all have to die to become the meat that we know and love. So i dont think a vegetarian will eat any of it. Just tofu, soy and lots of fruit and veggies. Some vegetarians choose to eat fish and seafood. No vegetarians eat beef pork chicken, etc. fish and shrimp are seafood, chicken is poultry...most vegetarians usually just stay away from beef nad pork anything with a nervous system can not be eaten! don't know.. i eat meet and veggies.. lol.. i don't know if i'd have enough energy to play paintball if i didn't have my protein from hamburgers.. lol.. good luck finding your answer.. Well it is to me, and i want to become a vegetarian.

I only seldomly eat red meat because its good for iron, (I'm iron deficient and really lack it) it's what I'm used to and I am currently researching other options, because I don't want to eat flesh period.
I don't eat anything else, pork, chicken, lamb....ewww I think i just threw up in my mouth. LOL

Some say my reasons aren't valid because because I'll eat a steak but not jello or gummy bears but they have pork....gagging....fat.....gag... it! YUCK! isn't that nasty? This is one of the absolute most aggravating topics I have ever come across. It makes me crazy when people say they are vegetarians but they eat chicken or fish. Being a vegetarian means that you eat no animal flesh. Pigs are animals, so are fish, and chickens. Vegetarians do not eat animals. Period. If it had eyes, we dont eat it! The only animal products vegetarians eat are dairy and eggs. Vegans dont even eat that. They are strictly vegetables, grains, and fruits. Plants, basically. I am going to convert to veganism soon because being a vegetarian is hypocritical because eating dairy and egg products still is contributing to the industry that abuses animals. they're all considered meat. A true vegetarian does not eat any of those.

If someone claims to be vegetarian but eats seafood only, they're called pescetarians. Ew. Meat is meat to many vegetarians...not matter what. There really isn't a "bad" meat or a "good meat".
My personal definition is that if it has as face or a mother, I don't eat it. I know of quite a few veggies who also go by this rule. Not only do I not eat meat, but I also don't eat eggs or sea creatures. (as they may not have an acutal 'face' but they had a mum!) yes they are considered meat my rule is that if it had once breathed then don't eat it!!!!!!!!!! and just for the record people who eat fish shrimp and chickens ARE NOT VEGETARIANS!!!!!!!! Meat: beef, pork, chicken, turkey, fish, shellfish, venison, lamb,

iT's not that hard, get the picture? If an animal, fish, crustacean, bird, or insect has to die.. it is meat. Meat is meat, whether it comes from a cow, a pig, a bird, or a fish. Vegetarians dont eat creatures that used to alive. All flesh is meat.
