Question:

Hindu,..about cow. Is it true that people can reincarnate to become COW, that is why they dont eat cow meat?

Cows seems to be a highly respectfull animal in India. Sometimes, especially in the early days they almost treated like somekind of god? (Cows seems treated better than mankind if they are Parians and Syudrans.)
I heard that they could be one of your family change form from mankind to cow due to wrong doing. Is that true?
Is that also why, eating meat is a real NO and NO for Indian Hindus?
So it is something more/behind than just to be kind to animals. Is that correct?

Well, wildflower, maynot be bulldropps tho; Maybe there is a significant things why they believe so. Lets wait for their explanation. Because, when you go to India, I dont know now, but in the 60st, you would see that.
Flowers in front of sitting cows is normal.
In Java -Indonesia, some people would not kill snakes, they believe that could be a reincarnation of their family. I am not kidding.

I'm not a Hindu but from what I can gather from the article, I think cows are not worshiped by Hindus.....instead they're just respected a whole lot because they can help people out a lot. They can give meat to people who eat meat and provide milk, fertilizer etc for vegetarians. I'm not sure though. Grandpa the Reincarnated Cow Cookies

Take your grandpa, now reincarnated as a cow. Roll flat with holy rolling pin. Cut into fun shapes like Hello Kitty with cookie cutters. Top with icing and sprinkles! Enjoy.

Moo. Excuse the pun, but that is just a lot of bull! There is nothing to reincarnation of that kind. When someone dies, their spirit goes to heaven or hell and they don't become an animal. You can believe whatever you want.... but that doesn't change the facts or the truth. tisk, tisk, lol..... I am not sure about all that but the main reason for respecting a cow and not eating its meat is because cow's milk was considered a good substitute for mother's milk and so the status of the cow was like a mother in the family!

I hope you understand our point of view a little better now.
