What do you think about the way animals are 'stunned' and slaughtered?

I think it's ridiculous and I've seen that many times it's not effective due to people who aren't very well trained in doing it 'properly.'
It drives me irate when someone watches avideo of it being done and says 'i dont see the big deal, they are being killed 'humanely' what more could you ask for?' as if they totally void the fact a life is being taken. I'm sure they'd totally agree if I decided I wanted to eat their niece..as long as I kill her 'painlessly' and cook her thoroughly we should be good, right? nonsense..!
