Vegetarian and meat? Please help!?!

Question:

Vegetarian and meat? Please help!?

I have been a vegatarian for a few years now. I also don't really know how to cook, but I am working on it.
My boyfriend is real suportive of my choice...or so I thought. Yesterday he told me that in the futrure he wants me to cook for him. And cook him meat. One of the reasons I went veggie is so I wouldn't have to handle the body of a dead animal. He says he will cut it up and everything so I wouldn't have to, but it still doesn't feel right. It might be a little different if he agreed to eat organic, but still....

Am I wrong in thinking that he souldn't have asked this of me?

I also went veggie because it is gross the way animals are treated right now. Being tortured their whole lives, living in their own filth. And it the effects on the enviroment are not to good either. It's not just because I don't like handleing the meat.

Answers:

You know, guys can cook. His hands aren't broken are they? You need to tel him how much you don't like handling dead animal bodies or you need to learn how to cook it.

This is about testing boundaries in a relationship. He isn't a jerk for asking nor or you wrong in trying to set a boundary. The best thing you can do is TALK about it. The worst thing you can do is give in and resent it or flame him for asking. That is what a relationship is all about. In the end you will find the boundary. If what you have is a phobia about dead animals he would be in the wrong for demanding it. See the difference? This is a good time to be honest with yourself and ask if this is a battle worth harming a relationship over. If it is then he needs to know that it won't stand.

Good luck dear.

By the way, cooking for a man is not a small thing. Most real men appreciate that. I think that is real sweet of you.
