Question about becoming...?!

Question:

Question about becoming...?

A vegetarian. I'm 13, and really considering it. I'm just worried about maybe not getting enough protein in my diet? Any tips or ideas about whether or not I should become one and about the protein issue? Thank you.

I personally don't think you should become a vegetarian. There's nothing wrong with meat (as long as you're not eating the fat off it), so why give it up? It honestly doesn't make sense. There's nothing wrong with my appendix, so should I really remove it? Also, with trying to get enough protein, wouldn't you get sick of eggs and nuts? Plus with people seeing you eating bags of nuts all the time, you might have to put up with the pun of you "going nuts". Sorry, I couldn't resist that one. :) Plus, there is significantly less protein in eggs and nuts than there is in meat, so you'd be eating about five eggs and a bag of nuts with every meal, or taking supplements to make up for it. Protein is where you get lots of energy, and giving that up could cost you. Fish is particularly important as far as meats go, especially salmon. It has high amounts of omega-3 fatty acids, and yes, even though they're fatty, they're good for you. The only other way to get your omega-3's is to take supplements. If I were you, I would maybe cut back on meat if it really bothered me that much, but I really think that you should just stick to your normal diet rather than give it up.
