What's your trick to filling up on salad?

There's a different type of "full" that you get with salad which is perfectly fine and very healthy for your digestive system - it's good to let it have a break regularly. But a good way to make your salads more substantial is to include starchy veggies such as raw carrots and beets - I like them grated, a handful of nuts/seeds, a handful of cooked grains, or some cold cooked veggies such as broccoli. You could experiment with dried fruits, too. Nothing wrong with having a piece of bread or a roll on the side, either.
