If Vegans don't eat meat because of the cruelty to animals: then all y'all are just hypocrites!?!

Question:

If Vegans don't eat meat because of the cruelty to animals: then all y'all are just hypocrites!?

Technically, vegtables are put through the same suffering and painful mechanical machines and processing as animals. You may want to quit eating everything altogether, if that's your reason.

And before some shmuck says that 'veggies don't have nerves to feel pain', guess again. Vegetables are living orgnaisms that respond to environmental stimulus. If you kept hitting a lettuce head (not hard enoguh to smash it, of course) then it will respond by not growing as much on that side or stop growing all together >=O!!!!

P.S, I'm all ready for flames :)

Answers:

Yes, and if you try to be a nice person, you are a hypocrite because you know you are going to be rude to someone when you are having a day. Heck, maybe you will simply blindly judge an entire group of people or an entire belief system due to a bad day or ignorance. Soooooooo, I suppose it is best to start tripping old ladies now. You are going to be a bad person, so it is best just to revel in it and do every bad and rude thing you possibly can.

(Get the irony yet?)

Anyway, vegan is an ideal... veganism is the path toward that ideal of living a life without cruelty. Everyone is a hypocrite; welcome to the human race. If we had access to your life and beliefs, I am certain we could find 20 ways in which you are a hypocrite. You can never achieve 100% of an ideal, but to not strive toward your beliefs is to lead a shallow and hollow life.

I suppose the first example to debunk your claim (even thought you don't care about being wrong in the slightest, and even thought you will likely choose the answer that says, "yeah, vegans are stuuuuuuuuuuuuupid") would be for you to take a knife to your (or your grandma's) house (whomever has a pet) and hold the knife to the cat or dog and to a head of broccoli and decide which one to cut.

Heck, if the lives are equal, invite all your meat-eating buddies over and cut up a live animal and a live broccoli... see what happens.

Second... open a 6th grade biology book. Seriously, it will explain to you the difference in thoughs and feelings of pain and sadness between plants and animals.

Third (if none of the above pursuades you), not only do you eat the flesh of murdered beings who were tortured every minute of their sad, pathetic lives for your pleasure, but you also eat more helpless, defenseless plants.

We eat plantes directly and therefore eat way less.
You not only eat what few plants you do, but you also eat every plant that every dead animal whose flesh you consumed ate. If you cannot grasp the moral argument... at least grasp math.

If you cannot trust some evil vegan or vegetarian you ask to give you the pounds of plants animals eat to die for you, do the math yourself with anual percentage of plants eaten verses pounds of the animal when it was slit open so you can eat flesh you don't need to be healthy.
