How to explain vegetarianism to a Grandma?!

Question:

How to explain vegetarianism to a Grandma?

My very judgemental 90 year old grandma invited me over for a dinner in my honor to celebrate something I accomplished. So, when she asked me what I wanted, I started to explain to her that I no longer ate any animal...when she asked me why I started to stumble on my words unlike when I explain it to others. She is very old and needs a more conservative explanation, can you guys give me tips?

Answers:

To be honest, I wouldn't explain it to her. My grandfather is nearing 80 years old, and I don't bother to go into details about it. When he asks, I quickly turn the conversation onto something else. Such as," ya I just dont like <insert specific food here>so how have you been?" Yada yada...! You know how it is with someone that age who has lived a long life, they are quite stuck in their ways of thinking and are hardly exposed to alot of things we face nowadays. My grandfather is very hard headed and highly opinionated, and I have always found it best to agree or quickly change subjects, as its hardly worth the stress on either side.
