Do soybeans cause acne?!

Question:

Do soybeans cause acne?

i heard somewhere that soymilk and other soy products aren't good for your skin, unless it is applied topically. I heard that consuming products made from soybeans can trigger acne. Is this true, if so,what are some alternatives for a vegan? any help would be greatly appreciated : )

Answers:

I know that soybeans increase estrogen in females. I have never heard of them causing acne or triggering breakouts unless you are allergic to them. I may be wrong there.

Alternatives for a vegan for protein are:

Seitan - which is wheat gluten.
All nuts.
Legumes and beans, especially mung beans and black beans.
There is a product called Quorn. It is in texture like chicken and tastes like it but it is made from a laboratory produced fungus.
Rice, especially brown and wild are nice. With beans, a good protein source.
Eggs can be considered, depending upon how far you take "vegan". Some eliminate dairy only. Others, all animal products which would include eggs.
