Vegetarian food at the hospital?!

Question:

Vegetarian food at the hospital?

I am going in for surgery tomorrow morning, do you know if hospitals have special vegetarian meals that can be requested like on airlines?

Answers:

Every time I've been in the hospital, they send around a menu ahead of time and you can check off any special dietary needs. There are enough vegans around these days that you should be able to get a vegetarian meal, no problem. It would probably be worth a call to the hospital ahead of time to see if you need to notify anyone that you will be needing a vegetarian diet. I live in a major metro area where we have many indian people who do not eat meat....so around here it's not a problem....but if you live in the middle of east cupcake, nowheresville...you might have a little more trouble.

Good luck with your surgery.
