I`m a vege.To become a vegan.?
I`m a vegetarian. Pasta is what I eat all the time.I eat fried fish sometimes and I eat chicken or try to eat chicken once in a while but hardly at all.Foods that I eat contains animals and the idea is starting to gross me out but I still eat it because it taste good. Some of the foods i`m talking about are chips, cheese with spagetti, cakes, chocolate;junk food. How can I become a vegan if there isn`t a replacement for every food that contains animals? I know that there is organic chese or pizza but that isn`t enough. There`s suppose to be an organic grocery store in my area but I never seen it.Does their store have replacements? I`m working on becoming a Vegan but i`m not even close.Someone who`s a vegan told me that if people hury to become vegans not knowing anything about it they can end up in the hospital.I `m underweight so I have to be careful.

Conservative1st-It makes me nausea thinking about what i`m eating that`s what I meant.Over the years I became more turn off from milk products/meats because what other people say about them and my mom use to be boiling the milk and I almost throw up drinking it.Because of all this I became a picky eater and sometimes I would starve myself.Becoming a vegetarian has helped me.
Oh no I`m not against the breast milk thing.I read somewhere that a young vegan couple might get life in prison for serving apple juice and soy milk to their new born baby. The baby was 2 weeks old when it died of starvation.

I have gone through this same transition from vegetarian to vegan so I know how it is. The best way to do it is to take one day at a time.
Now just because something says organic doesn't make it vegan. You have to read the ingredients to find hidden animal products. This may seem annoying and time wasting at first but in due time it will become second nature.
It is essential that you take the right vitamins and don't starve yourself. I take B-12, C, D and Flaxseed for Omega-3.
The way I started out was to do some research online and find out what foods I can and cannot eat. There are zillions of websites out there that I will put at the end of this.
Remember, the key is to get all the nutrition you need with a well rounded diet. Don't get stuck in the processed food world, just use frozen meals when you don't have time to cook. They have a lot of added ingredients that are not good for you.
It is important to ask yourself why you want to be vegan. This is important because people will ask you and you need to be able to answer. You say a reason is because the food is making you sick because of the things people have said about it. Ok so reason: animal cruelty? health? environment? What exactly are your reasons and why? People will ask.
People always ask what vegans eat. The answer: anything we want. There are alternatives for everything.
The best thing to do is find recipes and buy the ingredients needed. Buy main ingredients such as tofu (in all forms-firm, extra firm, soft, etc.), egg replacer (I use Ener-G), and soy milk (plain, vanilla, chocolate) or if you dont want soy then try almond milk.
Most local grocery stores sell vegan foods. You just have to know what brands and such. Since grocery stores won't have everything you need, check to see if there is a health food store near by you. You said there is supposed to be an organic food store near you. If you know the name of it, go to their website and find the store locater. If you don't know the name, google organic food stores near your house and I'm sure one will pop up.
You will make mistakes as you go along. I have been vegan for a year and still make little slips. I also have a friend who has been vegan for 2 years and also makes mistakes every once in a while. Everyday is fresh and new, and we are all smarter than we were the day before.
By the way I first became vegetarian at age 14, stayed that way for about 2 years. In my Junior year in high school I started to become vegan. I am 17 and now entering my Senior year. It is a process, slow, fast, its different for everyone. As long as you take your vitamins everyday and get all the nutrients you need to be vegan you won't end up in the hospital.
